Looks back over the partnerships which developed between local authorities and developers in building town centre schemes in the 1960`s and early 1970`s, and how they accelerated the pace of progress. Local authority competition is also discussed , with guidance on how to deal with submissions from developers and how councils` can play a positive part in responding to town centre pressures.
