490 _aRICS Housing Market Survey Great Britain
_vMarch 2005
520 _aReports that house prices fell again in the three months to March 2005 due to subdued market conditions with prices weak across much of the country. For this period 37% more surveyors reported price falls than rises. Completed sales in March were stable with average sales per surveyor remaining at 21. Stocks of unsold property fell back in March to 73 per surveyor. Newly agreed sales in March registered little change but confidence in the sales outlook improved further reaching the highest level since November 2004. Surveyors have revised their price outlook downwards in the near term and still envisage falls in the months ahead. New buyer enquiries showed little change in March. The threat of further rate increases is still inducing buyer caution.
