_aThe report outlines the results of the 2003-04 baseline assessment of regeneration in all 22 councils in Wales carried out by the Audit Commission in Wales (AciW). The assessment sought to determine if the regeneration process in Wales was effective, efficient and sustainable, to provide guidance to local authorities, the Welsh Assembly Government and other public bodies and to manage and monitor the regeneration process at national and local level. The report also identifies what AciW considered to be the key national issues for regeneration in Wales. Two supplementary reports have been published: "Regeneration in Wales since the 1950's _btimeline and synopsis" which provides a historical overview of Welsh policies and initiatives and "Notable practice in regeneration" which provides case studies of notable regeneration practice in Wales. |
