_vThird Quarter 2005
520 _aShows farmland values falling again in the third quarter 2005, the third consecutive quarterly decline. Prices recorded an annual fall of just under 1% for the first time in two years although the price of bare land continues to rise. Sales activity was suppressed by weaker demand and a fall in availability. Demand for farmland fell for the first time in nine quarters although demand conditions remain stronger than in 2004. Commercial farm prices are expected to rise modestly over the next year but residential farms are expected to experience lower prices.
