520 _aThis consultation paper asks for comments on the draft for a new set of procedure rules governing inquiries into Compulsory Purchase Orders (CPOs). The primary reason for the new Rules is to take account of the changes to procedure and the new terms introduced by the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 Part VIII and the subsequent Compulsory Purchase of Land (Written Representations Procedure) (Ministers) Regulations 2004. The new Rules seek to combine into a single unified set the separate arrangements which currently apply to ministerial and non-ministerial CPOs respectively. Responses are required by 25 January 2006.
