520 _aShows farmland values declining by 0.9% in the fourth quarter 2005, now down by 4.6% on year ago levels. The weighted average farmland price fell to £9 370 per hectare, down from a revised third quarter £9454, the fourth consecutive quarter of decline. The number of sales dropped to 259 in 2005, down for the third year in a row. Demand for commercial farmland fell for the second consecutive quarter. Rents on average decreased by 3% in 2005 , having fallen by 2% in 2004. The demand for residential farmland has also lessened more than that for commercial farmland.
