520 _aHouse prices rose by 0.6% in April, the highest monthly rise for almost two years, driven by values rising across 36% of the country, primarily in London and southeast England. House prices remained unchanged across 60% of the country with some signs that levels of market activity may start slow in the run up to summer. House prices have increased by 1.5% over the last three months and by 0.9% over the last year. In London the supply of homes for sale has grown by 14% over the last quarter whilst demand has grown in excess of 50%. The proportion of the asking price achieved in London has moved to over 95% and time on the market is now only 4.2 weeks.
