520 _aTenant demand for rental property accelerated in the quarter to July 2006 approaching the first quarter's pace which was the fastest since the second quarter of 2001. Instructions to let properties grew further in the quarter to July though at a slower pace than the first quarter. The percentage of landlords selling their properties rose by 4.6% in the same period to July, a figure close to a three year low. Rental levels accelerated for the third consecutive quarter with the overall rise in rents for the quarter to July the strongest in the survey's history. Gross yields remained virtually unchanged for the second consecutive quarter. Confidence in rental increases has risen again for the second consecutive quarter to the highest level in the survey's history.
