The gap in prices between London and the rest of the country is widening. Over the last 12 months London prices have risen almost twice as fast as anywhere else. Gordon Brown's challenge of finding ways to assist first time buyers is continuing to grow. Terraced house prices rose 30% faster than other houses. Flat prices rose nearly twice as fast as semi and detached properties.
