| 520 | _aDue to demand, a sequel to "Caveat Surveyor" will be published later this year. The 1986 booklet, which featured a selection of claims handled under the RICS professional indemnity insurance scheme, contained only one illustration of a claim against a quantity surveyor . Preliminary work for the sequel however, has produced evidence that a danger area for quantity surveyors is the situation where a builder goes into liquidation , either in the middle of a contract in which the quantity surveyor forms part of the professional team, or where the quantity surveyor is called in by the liquidator to advise on outstanding contracts. Demonstrates how the quantity surveyor can guard against the chances of being faced with a negligence claim in these circumstances. | ||
