520 _aConsultation paper seeking views on proposed amendments to the Building Act 1984, Building Regulations 2000 and Building (Approved Inspectors etc) Regulations 2000. The amendments are intended to enable the electronic communication of building control transactions; to enable some transactions to be performed without signatures; and to enable the use of electronic signatures. Intended to bring legislation into line with industry practice and expectations. It is hoped that they will reduce the administrative workload associated with these transactions, enabling a more efficient delivery of services. Responses are due by 7 January 2008.
