520 _aReports that mediation is growing, together with its impact. Mediation saves UK business £1 billion per annum, but costs only £8 million. The combined value of the mediation sector in terms of total fee income, is roughly £8.2 million. Finds that the number of cases has risen from 2,700 in 2005 to nearly 3,700 (i.e. 33%). For the first time mediation schemes account for 25% of the total market. 80 individuals were involved in nearly 80% of all non-scheme cases, up from 65 involved in 70% in 2005. 75% of mediated cases were settled on the day, with another 13% settling soon after.
