520			_aProposes amendments to the Local Development Regulations (LDR) and a replacement for Planning Policy Statement 12 (PPS12). The amendments are proposed in light of the planning white paper "Planning for a sustainable future" (L138208) and its objective of streamlining the planning process. Suggested changes to the LDR would give more opportunity for public involvement; procedural revisions; and the production of Supplementary Planning Documents. Changes to PPS12 would see an emphasis on the Core Strategy and the role of the Local Development Frameworks; greater flexibility given to Local Authorities; and a repackaging of the tests for soundness to give greater clarity.
