520 _aExamines various issues regarding innovative construction products and techniques, with particular emphasis on the fire safety and robustness of new and emerging products and systems. The issues considered include the fire spread, integrity of compartmentation, cavity barriers, external cladding, structural insulated panel systems and workmanship. Three broad areas for action are identified: the use of new materials and permutations of new materials; developing a more robust database for collating information; and exploring the impact of new techniques and processes.
