_vFirst Quarter 2007
520 _aReveals the start of a recovery in workload for small and medium sized firms, with stronger results in the first quarter of 2007 compared to those in 2006. However, the results are still not in line with recent years and there was a small drop in the proportion of firms reporting problems with the availability of skilled labour, suggesting that builders and contractors are not expecting a marked increase in workload. The results for new build and repair, maintenance and improvement of private housing were stronger than those for new build and refurbishment of non-residential buildings for public sector clients.
