520 _aReports clear differences between the Edinburgh and Glasgow office markets. Demand in the Glasgow market remains strong although take-up in 2006 was down slightly on 2005. The Edinburgh market was less buoyant than Glasgow in 2006 although take up improved compared with 2005 and was only slightly lower than the ten year average. Reports that the demand in Glasgow will remain strong and the lack of stock coming forward over the next 12 months will result in further upward pressure on rents that have already shown significant recent growth. Expects Edinburgh headline rents to move on to £312 psm (£29 psf) by the end of 2007. Available space is expected to fall and it is likely that there will be a reduction in incentives for occupiers as the year progresses. The delay in completion of new developments may result in a shortage of Grade A stock in 2008.
