520 _aFinds that accessibility in Great Britain worsened as mortgage lenders reduced the amount they were prepared to lend first time buyers (FTBs). Affordability in Great Britain improved as house prices fell and the amount lent fell slightly. Lower quartile earnings continue to grow slower than the preferred measure of living costs: RPIX. As a result, real incomes edged down for the tenth consecutive quarter since the peak in 2006 Q1, yet are only down 0.7% in that time. London is the least accessible region in Great Britain and the North East and Scotland are the most accessible regions. London is the least affordable region in Great Britain and North East England is the most affordable region. In the past year London has seen the largest deterioration in accessibility, while the South East and the North East have seen the biggest improvements in affordability.
