520 _aIntending to inform the setting of procurement standards for central Government, this report looks at occupational space efficiency in terms of management of property costs and improving the quality of the work environment. Recommends an Office Floorspace Standard as an efficiency standard for office accommodation. Explains why a standard is needed. Comments upon how such a standard could be introduced.The Office of Government Commerce has called on all government departments, their agencies and sponsored bodies, to adopt these workspace efficiency standards for offices on the government estate from 1 April 2008.
