The 3rd edition of the practice notes includes: the practice notes; the report documentation, including information on choosing between surveys, a description of the RICS HomeBuyer Report Service and Standard Terms of Engagement, and leasehold properties advice; and the report form and checklists. Under the terms of practice statement UKPS 4.1 in the current edition of the RICS Valuation Standards, surveyors accepting instructions to provide reports under the RICS HomeBuyer Service must comply with the conditions set out in these practice notes. The Practice Notes are written to reflect the property law in England, Wales, Northern Ireland, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man. Surveyors should make necessary changes in cases where differences in property law in Scotland affect the application of the service.
