520 _aFinds that UK house prices have fallen by 5.6% since August 2008 but were 0.5% higher than in July 2009. The mix-adjusted house price was £196 510 (not seasonally adjusted). UK house prices rose by 2.6% in the quarter ending August 2009, compared with a fall of 1.7% in the quarter ending May 2009. Annual average house prices fell by 0.8% in Scotland, 5.9% in England, 3.2% in Wales and 11.5% in Northern Ireland. Annual average house prices paid by first time buyers in August 2009 were 6.6% lower than a year ago while average house prices paid by former owner occupiers were 5.3% lower.
