520 _aFinds that UK house prices have increased by 0.6% since November 2008 and 1.7% higher than in October 2009. The mix-adjusted average house price was £200 454 in November 2009 (not seasonally adjusted). UK house prices rose by 3.5% in the quarter ending November 2009 compared with a smaller rise of 2.6% in the quarter ending August 2009 (seasonally adjusted). Annual average house prices rose by 0.6% in England, 2.4% in Scotland and 2.2% in Wales but fell in Northern Ireland by 11.6%. Annual average house prices paid by first time buyers in October 2009 were 3.91% higher than a year ago. By comparison average house prices paid by former owner occupiers were 0.7% lower. Annual average house prices paid for new properties in October 2009 were 0.7% lower than a year ago. By comparison average house prices paid on pre-owned dwellings were 0.7% higher.
