520 _aFrom 1 March 2011, the UK Code of Non-broadcast Advertising, Sales Promotion and Direct Marketing (CAP Code) (see also L151479) will cover marketing communications on organisations' websites and in other non-paid-for space under their control. The CAP code is self-regulated by the Advertising Standards Agency (ASA). A marketing communication is judged by ASA to be something that is primarily aimed at selling something, with or without a price and even if it does not seek an immediate financial transaction. Applies to marketing communications of organisations operating in the UK. This could mean a .com website or an .org website as well as a .co.uk website. It also applies to content an organisation adds to its Facebook or Twitter pages.
