520 _aUK house prices increased by 0.9% since March 2010 and by 1.2% since February 2011. The mix-adjusted average house price was £205 565 in March 2011 (not seasonally adjusted). UK house prices fell by 0.5% in the quarter ending March 2011 as well as a decrease of 0.4% in the quarter ending December 2010 (seasonally adjusted). Annual average house prices rose by 1.3%. in England but fell by 0.7% in Scotland, 2.5% in Wales and by 13.9 in Northern Ireland. Annual average house prices paid by first time buyers in March 2011 were 0.3% lower than a year ago. By comparison average house prices paid by former owner occupiers were 1.4% higher. Annual average house prices paid for new properties in March 2011 were 10.7% higher than a year ago. By comparison average house prices paid on pre-owned dwellings were 0.2% lower.
