520 _aStudy of the first 45 000 Display Energy Certificates (DEC's) lodged on the Landmark register between October 2008 and mid February 2010 shows that the benchmark figures used are fit for purpose with 94% of buildings in the study showing a good correlation between the benchmarks and the actual operational ratings. The benchmarking figures worked well for those building categories most commonly found on the database such as schools which accounted for 52% of buildings with DEC's. Benchmarks for entertainment halls and theatres dry sports and leisure facilities however appear to be too generous.
