520 _aUK house prices decreased by 0.3% since April 2010 and by 1.1% since March 2011. The mix-adjusted average house price was £204 439 in April 2011 (not seasonally adjusted). UK house prices fell by 0.3% in the quarter ending April 2011 as well as a decrease of 0.4% in the quarter ending January 2011(seasonally adjusted). Annual average house prices remained unchanged in England but fell by 1.2% in Scotland, 1.4% in Wales and by 15.2% in Northern Ireland. Annual average house prices paid by first time buyers in April 2011 were 1.6% lower than a year ago. By comparison average house prices paid by former owner occupiers were 0.2% higher. Annual average house prices paid for new properties in April 2011 were 4.2% higher than a year ago. By comparison average house prices paid on pre-owned dwellings were 0.6% lower.
