The average length of all lettings increased from 5.0 years in 2009/10 to 5.3 years in 2010/11, rising across all sectors in 2010/2011 after two years of consecutive falls. The proportion of leases with break clauses went up in 2010/2011 to 31.1% compared to 29.4% in 2009/10. Overall, rent-free periods rose to 13.4 months in 2010/11.
