_vSecond Quarter 2011
520 _aThe Q2 2011 RICS Construction Market Survey highlights three key points. Firstly, total workloads remained broadly flat in the second quarter (the net balance fell from +6 to +2). Secondly, the regional divergence that emerged at the end of 2010 has become more pronounced this quarter, with London/South East recording rising workloads in contrast to the other parts of the country, where workloads are either declining or remain flat. Lastly, the sectoral breakdown shows public sector workloads continuing to decline in the face of cuts in government spending, whilst workloads in most parts of the private sector continue to rise.
