Likewise an easy and practical method of leveling, surveying, &c. whereby the farmer may survey, level, sough, drain, and float, his land; calculated and set his work by the acre, rood, perch, or yard, &c. instead of the tedious method of working by arithmetic. It will also greatly facilitate the business of the architect, engineer, surveyor, &c., &c. masons, carpenters, navigators, labourers, &c. (who cannot write) may accurately ascertain, to the thousandth part of a yard, foot, &c. the quantity of work in embanking, canal cutting, reservoirs, aqueducts, marlpits, stone quarries, &c., &c.
