520 _aRisk of flooding for English homes could increase by four times by 2035 if no further action is taken to reduce the effects of climate change. This risk is increased by a higher number of homes being built along a floodplain with a rise of 12% over the last decade. Notes that investment for flood defences has helped to reduce flood risk for 182 000 homes in the last three years but planned yearly spending on defences is due to decrease over the next few years. Also includes advice on the risk of water scarcity now and in the future.
