| 520 | _aDEFRA assessment of the impacts of fracking has now been published in full. It warns in previously omitted sections that house prices near fracking wells were likely to fall up to 7% in values within a mile of wells. Also, leakage of waste fluids from fracking processes had led to environmental damage in the USA and fracking could also effect human health indirectly through the consumption of contaminated wildlife, livestock or agricultural products. The report also details some possible benefits of fracking such as generating jobs and economic growth as well as providing greater energy security for the UK. | ||
