520 _aA paper presented at the COBRA Conference in New Delhi on 10-12 September 2013. Looks into the major factors inhibiting residential investment in property in Angola after nearly 30 years of civil war. The number of daunting socio-economic challenges being faced include the re-settlement of a large percentage of the population and urban re-structuring. The major factors include access to and the cost of finance, land law and conveyancing procedures, urbanization, the development of ?musseques? (informal settlements) and the lack of infrastructure.
