520 _aPresents an analysis of the skills landscape in the UK and sets out the key challenges faced by the industry to deliver the infrastructure pipeline. The findings include that there is a demand for over 250 000 construction workers and over 150 000 engineering construction workers by 2020; there is also a need to train and upskill around 250,000 of the existing workforce over the next decade in addition to the need to recruit new workers. Skilled workers need to find it easier to move between sectors and projects in order to reduce the key skills shortages for major projects and programmes.
