The amount of space used by an average staff members fell to 10.4 sq m in 2014?15, from 11.3 sq m in 2013?14, a reduction of 8% in one year. A new space target of 8 sq m per person was set on 1 January 2016. The Government has adopted the new International Property Measurement Standard introduced in January 2016 by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.
