The standards contained in this sixth edition are compliant with current International Valuation Standards, published by the International Valuation Standards Committee (IVSC).

The standards in the sixth edition came into effect on 1 January 2008 and superseded the "RICS appraisal and valuation standards" (ISBN 1842191233).
