| 520 | _aExamines the new design for the Centre Court at Wimbledon which should be in place by 2009. Explains that the new roof should offer a guaranteed amount of tennis each day to television companies that bankroll the tournament. Architect HOK Sport has spent three years getting the detail of the design right. This includes the changes to the existing roof which will be replaced with one made of a foldable fabric. A solution also had to be found to ensure the conditions inside the new enclosed space were suitable for players and spectators so an air conditioning system was developed which is capable of maintaining the court's internal environment. Work is scheduled to start in 2006. | ||
