_v(2004/0074) 29 March 2004 (2)
520 _aNew legislation means that neighbours who cannot resolve their disputes over high hedges can appeal to local authorities to intervene. Government has launched a consultation on how such complaints should be handled. Issues covered include what level of fees local authorities should charge, how authorities should assess whether a hedge is causing problems and how any appeals against an authority's decision should be handled. The consultation is available on the ODPM website, http://www.odpm.gov.uk/treesandhedges. http://www.odpm.gov.uk/pns/DisplayPN.cgi?pn_id=200 4_0074
