| 520 | _aGovernment has unveiled a pilot scheme to encourage more people to settle disputes out of court. The scheme will be housed in the Central London Civil Justice Centre and will automatically refer selected civil cases to mediation. Around 20 cases per week will be selected for referral and parties will have to give their reasons if they object. Both parties will be advised that their case has been referred to mediation and asked to submit a £100 fee each and dates to avoid for their three-hour meeting with a mediator.
