A survey by the Housing Forum and the University of Westminster, "Housing skills approaches to the current challenges" explains how the main problem is the failure to attract entrants into the housing sector with 49% of companies poaching trained staff from other house builders or contractors by offering higher salaries. The Housing Forum has formulated an action plan which contains eight key recommendations to help solve this including clear job descriptions and developing links with the local community.
