| 520 | _aDiscusses the virtues of outsourcing Facilities Management (FM). Introduces the concept of outsourcing and points out that it has existed within the FM industry longer than the entire concept of FM. There is a distinction made between outtasking and outsourcing. Forty one percent of all contracts in the FM sector were for the delivery of single tasks in 2002 suggesting that the FM industry is orientated towards low margin, low specification operational task level delivery. The outsourcing market remains productive in two major contexts: for organisations that perform a package of services; and for those who offer the 'management model', delivering solution and processes. Provides a model to explain the advantages and disadvantages of outsourcing services from the viewpoint of the client and the supplier. | ||
