520 _aQuarterly survey examines the effect that recent government interventions may have had on the construction industry. Points out that the publication of the Barker and Lyons reviews (ISBN 1845320107 and ISBN 1845320093) are expected to increase workload in the medium term and radically affect the profile of the construction industry in the next 10 years. Key findings of the survey include that construction output in the fourth quarter of 2003 was 2% higher than the previous quarter and 6% higher than the fourth quarter of 2002. Tender prices are predicted to rise nationally by 3.7% in the next year, but private commercial sector work is expected to continue to fall.
