520 _aAnalyses whether public housing can pull down the price level of a neighbouring private housing market. Observes that Hong Kong has almost half of its population living in public or subsidised housing and in such a small city, it is difficult for developments not be built near private projects. Using collaborative data and formulae concludes that the proximity of social housing produces a stigma, but the distance involved does not necessarily correlate to the negative effect. The perceived stigma may be psychological rather than physical.
