520 _aA shake-up of housing law is likely after government asked the Law Commission to study how housing disputes are resolved and to create a simple and fair system. The three year study will look at everyday problems faced by social housing residents and landlords such as possession proceedings, and failure to pay rent. It will also look at reducing costs by using tribunals to replace courts in resolving disputes.
