520 _aExamines how the canalside is becoming an epicentre of urban regeneration both in the provision of new affordable homes with social landlords playing a key role and also mixed-use developments. British Waterways has set up a national regeneration agency, Isis, to promote best practice in waterside regeneration and has established a London-based collaboration with developer Bloc, H2O Urban, which is pinpointing development sites in Berkshire, London and Hertfordshire. Looks at projects in London and southeast England including the Cotall Street mixed-tenure scheme in East London, the Gravesend canal basin development and the Monteith Estate in Bow.
