_v9 August 2004 (3)
520 _aAccording to the latest "Regional trends survey" published by the CBI and Experian, manufacturing output growth has slowed in the last three months to July 2004. However, overall the overall position continues to improve in most regions - apart from the West Midlands where confidence among manufacturers remains depressed. In Scotland employment stabilised after almost four years. The survey suggests that employment contraction in the next few months will continue. Estimates based on the survey results suggest a further 14 000 jobs will be lost to manufacturing in the current quarter. http://www.cbi.org.uk/ndbs/press.nsf/0363c1f07c6ca 12a8025671c00381cc7/0d765644763f143380256ee1003b43 9a?OpenDocument
