_aDEFRA News Release _v14 September 2004 (1) |
||
| 520 | _aDEFRA has published a road map which shows levels of traffic noise throughout Greater London, pinpointing noise hotspots. The noisiest boroughs include Havering, Hounslow, Barnet, Westminster and Enfield. The quietest include Sutton and Hammersmith. The surveys show more Londoners think road traffic noise is a problem than aircraft noise or noisy neighbours. The map is the first part of a major government initiative to plot noise from roads, railways, aircraft and industrial premises across England.
