In August 2004 Bovis Lend Lease fought back against the current domination of the charts by Laing O'Rouke and took the top spot - aided by successfully acquiring £310m-worth of work last month; £300m of that is the deal to redevelop Central Manchester Hospital. Bovis also topped the rolling top 40 contractors list. The top architect of the annual period was BDP who have won 43 contracts in this period, totalling £908.9m.
