520 _aThe final report of the Construction Act review has been released. The review, into the Housing, Grants, Construction and Regeneration Act 1996: Part II, began in March with members of the construction industry forming a review group and looking at the adjudication and provisions of the Act. The report identifies issues and suggests various improvements that include: on adjudication: clarification of the requirement for a contract to be in writing and; on payment: improving the effectiveness of the right of suspension. The report will inform the consultation document that the DTI will issue later in 2004.
