520 _aThe "Nationwide autumn review" shows house prices rising in September by just 0.2% on a seasonally adjusted basis, following an increase of 0.1% in August. This brings the average house price to £153 727. Annual house price inflation has reached 17.8%. New regional affordability indices reveal that the most stretched housing markets are northern and northwestern England. Trading up is at its hardest for more than 10 years.
