_v(260) 3 November 2004 (2)
520 _aMandatory Home Information Packs (HIPs) are still on course to be introduced by the government from January 2007. They will be reintroduced to the Housing Bill again in the Commons despite the House of Lords voting to make the packs voluntary. The home buying and selling process is fraught with serious problems and is in urgent need of reform. Government wants HIPs to be compulsory, to be implemented throughout England and Wales, following a six-month dry run and with the requirement that all estate agents marketing homes with HIPs to belong to an approved redress scheme. http://www.odpm.gov.uk/pns/displaypn.cgi?pn_id=200 4_0260
