490 _aCBI News Release
_v12 November 2004 (3)
520 _aThe results of the CBI/Experian "Regional trends survey", taken from the "Quarterly industrial trends survey" shows that manufacturers saw output growth subdued across the UK in the three months to October 2004 as exports were hit by weak international demand. The three regions that were hardest hit were Northern Ireland, West Midlands and the northeast of England. Business optimism also fell in most regions as did export orders. However employment is showing tentative signs of improvement after three poor years. http://www.cbi.org.uk/ndbs/press.nsf/0363c1f07c6ca 12a8025671c00381cc7/128867be2da7300e80256f46005b8d 8a?OpenDocument
